Meet Jody Neyman for Circuit Court Judge

Joseph D. “Jody” Neyman, Jr. has dedicated his career to serving the people of DeSoto County through the law, the courts, and the community. With more than three decades of legal experience and more than two decades of judicial service, he offers the knowledge, judgment, and temperament necessary to serve as Circuit Court Judge with fairness and integrity.

Jody Neyman has practiced law in local, state, and federal courts, handling a broad range of matters involving civil, criminal, and governmental issues. Over the course of his career, he has built a reputation for being prepared, ethical, and committed to the rule of law. His judicial experience includes serving as Municipal Judge for the City of Southaven and previously serving as Municipal Judge Pro Tempore for the City of Hernando. He also serves as a designee for the DeSoto County Youth Court, helping oversee important matters involving minors when needed.

In addition to his work on the bench, Jody has maintained a respected legal practice and has served public institutions throughout DeSoto County. His professional background includes representing governmental bodies and local entities, as well as leadership roles within Mississippi’s legal community. He currently serves on the Mississippi Board of Bar Admissions, helping oversee the process for admitting attorneys to practice law in this state. He has also served as Bar Commissioner for the 17th Circuit Court District and has remained active in the Mississippi Bar and DeSoto County Bar for many years.

Jody’s approach to judicial service is grounded in preparation, impartiality, and respect for the Constitution. The goal of the court should always be to ensure that the law is followed, the rights of all parties are protected, and every person who enters the courtroom is treated fairly. Even when parties disagree with an outcome, they should leave knowing they were heard and received a fair trial. That commitment to fairness is at the heart of this campaign.

A graduate of the University of Mississippi and the University of Mississippi School of Law, Jody has spent nearly his entire professional life serving this region. He has also remained deeply involved in the community through civic, church, and youth activities, including leadership roles with the Hernando Chamber of Commerce, the Hernando Optimist Club, and local youth sports.

Jody and his wife, Mary Phillips Neyman, have been married since 1997 and have raised their family in DeSoto County. As a longtime resident of Hernando, he understands the values of this community and the importance of a judiciary that is strong, fair, and worthy of the public’s trust.

This campaign is built on experience, integrity, and a commitment to serving DeSoto County with the professionalism and sound judgment the office of Circuit Court Judge requires.
